In the three-year Erasmus+ project “Religious Education and Diversity – Sharing experiences of and approaches to teacher education in the context of ‘Education and Training 2020’ (READY)”, teacher training institutions in Germany, England, Austria, Scotland and Sweden are exploring the topic ‘Religion and Diversity’ in two respects: (1) the mutual exchange of diverse forms of Religious Education and (2) the variety of approaches to subject teaching and learning, in which the question of religious heterogeneity is considered and discussed. The results are being examined and proposals for teaching Religion and Diversity in Europe will be published.
The project will be completed with the final Multiplier Event in Vienna from 11 – 12 April 2018. We will address the issue of plurality and diversity in Europe, present and discuss the results and possible conclusions of the project, and consider what we can learn from each other for an appropriate future-oriented education and training of religion teachers.
The event offers an excellent opportunity for exchange and networking with educational and religious education experts from the partner countries. The venue, the Curhaus of St Stephan’s, is ideally located right in the heart of the beautiful city of Vienna.
