European Meeting of Independent Education
The annual EMIE meeting in 2023 took place in the building of the European Parliament. The meetings aim to enhance communication and sharing of good practices from European stakeholders. Furthermore, those stakeholders cooperate in advocating the Freedom of Education and the Freedom of Parental Choice as fundamental rights of the citizens of the European Union.
The subject of this year’s meeting was: “Contribution of independent schools to engagement, well-being and achievement for all”. A central part in the meeting was given to a case study: Czech independent schools by Jakub Dvořak, director of a school for children with special needs.
Michael Jacobs and Piet Jansen represented IV, and Annika Kastner represented the GPENreformation/EKD.
