IV news:
The International Association for Christian Education (IV) offers a study trip for school leaders and education experts from 8-11 October 2024 to promote professional exchange across national borders. The destination is Budapest, where the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hungary (ELCH) has re-established several schools after the end of communist rule or taken them back from state responsibility into church responsibility. Christian schools are highly valued in Hungary today and are subsidised by the state.
In addition to the school and classroom visits, several workshops are planned, focusing, for example, on support measures for pupils and the ELCH’s leadership training programmes. Questions relating to religious education and religious practice in schools are also included in the programme. The touristic part of the programme includes a city tour and a visit to the parliament. Judit Hallgatóné Hajnal, the former principal of the Evangelical Grammar School in Györ, will accompany the trip. The participation fee is 550 €. Registrations can still be made with Kerstin Wiechmann at the IV/GPEN office (kerstin.wiechmann@ekd.de, Tel +49-(0)511-2796-8371).
